Karachi is the largest city of
Pakistan and seventh populous city of world . People
from every part of Pakistan come to Karachi, therefore it is known as mini
Pakistan. Unfortunately city has not got enough attention from Gov. Law and order
situation of city is worst than ever.

Local departments, which are
responsible to maintain city like KDA, KMC, water board etc. are incompetent
the work force is either incompetent or corrupt. Performance level of these
departments is very low. There is no such mechanism for purchase and maintenance machinery. Funds are not only reason, corruption, political involvement are
also big issues. There are large number of people working in these department,
who neither have sufficient experience nor education related to their work.
Local government election held in
Dec 2015 , but local government system is week as compared to developed nations .In addition with this people don’t
own city. As a citizen we should take care of our city and play positive role in improving things .
Funds are also one of the main reasons. Funds are not available for machinery and maintains of infrastructure. Large number of work force and machinery required to move thousands of tons garbage out of city. Recycling plants are also required to utilize the garbage effectively.

Fixit
Iqra university student Alamagir khan started a campaign with a unique style he started to fix main holes with few
fellows and then pasted the pic of CM Sindh on it to show the protest this
activity got viral overnight initially on social media then on electronic media
this was the first major initiative towards this campaign this brave man worked
hard in a city like Karachi. He went in all areas with his team irrespective of
which cast community lives in that particular area. This campaign put pressure
on Sindh GOV, which was doing nothing at that time.
JDC
Jaffaria disaster cell is one of the
re known NGOs of Pakistan. This NGO started 15 days campaign named Ab Hoga Saaf
Karachi to clean garbage of city. Campaigned ended on the meeting with newly
appointed CM Sindh and with his commitments to clean Karachi.
I think most of people of Karachi
have the problem of sinus this disease is caused by dust. Diseases are
spreading due polluted environment of city.

Awareness
campaign
Government should run awareness
campaign to create awareness about the effects of garbage and pollution on daily
life of people and how to control this issue.
Local
government
Improved local government system can
also be helpful for this because in local government people have access to
their representative they can go for resolution and local representative have
more access and information are problem than other.
Improvement
in departments
Departments, which are responsible
for this job must be improved in terms of work force sleeping employees etc.
They must be accountable for their actions also there must corruption free
environment for better performance, professionals who have background and
experience must be hired in order to work effectively.
Increase
funds and accountability
Government should take this as a
priority and increases funds to purchase new machinery and increase work force
and for new projects.
Monitoring and law
There should be a monitoring
committee to monitor the lope holes and wrong doings also there is need of law
to limit every one doing wrong things
Plastic
bags
Government should stop manufacturing
of plastic bags.
